This Privacy Policy explains how the Kyle Smith for Fayetteville City Council campaign (“the Campaign,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit kyle4fay.org, sign up to volunteer, or communicate with us.
Information We Collect
We collect information you give us directly, including:
- Your name, email address, and phone number when you sign up to volunteer;
- The volunteer activities you tell us you are interested in;
- Whether you have consented to receive text messages from us, and when;
- Any message you send us by email or through social media.
We also automatically collect limited technical information when you use the site, such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the date and time of your visit. This is used to keep the site secure and working correctly.
How We Use Your Information
- To contact you about volunteering, campaign events, and voting;
- To send you text messages, if and only if you have opted in;
- To send campaign updates and solicit contributions;
- To operate, secure, and improve our website;
- To comply with campaign finance and election law.
Text Messaging and Mobile Information
If you provide your phone number and check the SMS consent box on our sign-up form, you agree to receive text messages from the Campaign. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Donations may be solicited.
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign.
We keep a record of your consent, including the date and time you gave it and the version of the disclosure you agreed to, so that we can honor and document your choice.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors who help us operate the campaign — such as our website host, database provider, email platform, and text messaging provider — solely so they can perform those services for us.
- Campaign staff and volunteers. With authorized people working on the Campaign who need the information to do their work.
- Legal requirements. When required by law, including campaign finance reporting. Contributions may be publicly reported as required by Arkansas law.
As stated above, text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from all of these sharing categories and are never shared with third parties.
Your Choices
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts.
- Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any campaign email.
- Access and deletion. Email us at info@kyle4fay.org to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it.
Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections and access controls limiting who on the Campaign can view volunteer records. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children’s Privacy
Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
